Edutherapy Limited was incorporated in 2007 in the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. The company was formed out of the realization that there was a need for highly qualified and experienced professionals to provide services in all areas of Special Education and Early Intervention i.e. specific and non-specific learning disabilities, early intervention, acquired or congenital disorders that affect development inclusive of severe and multiple disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, hearing impairments, visual impairments and blindness, down syndrome, hydrocephalus, spina bifida and cerebral palsy.
The goal of the Principals is to ensure that both adults and children receive one-on-one strategies and intervention which will help them to acquire and improve in the relevant skill areas in which they may be deficient. Although most clients are referred by a medical professional – Neurologist, Paediatrician, General Practitioner – self referrals, client referrals and school referrals are also acceptable.
While the aim is to provide a quality individualized programme for the client, we, at Edutherapy, also think it is imperative to provide parents and teachers with the appropriate coping skills and support strategies needed to work with their child or student, in order to maximize the growth and efficiency of the intervention programme. With this in mind, PARENT TRAINING and Professional Development for teachers are also offered in the form of short seminars or longer workshops for schools as well as corporate groups.
More adults with special needs as they enter college, university and the working world come to the realization and acceptance that children with learning disabilities become adults with learning disabilities and other special needs. With support and provision of skills and strategies, adults can learn how to manage and balance their professional/student and home life whether they are coping with learning needs or attention deficit disorders.
Edutherapy wants to be there for you, to provide services for individuals and families, as they transition through the hurdles and achievements throughout the lifespan.
